Crystal bright statement jewelry with tribal influences is the dominant jewelry trend for Spring Summer 2013. Large crystal pieces in diverse colors, mixed with rope, leather and beads to create an ethnic inspired look. Taking the ethnic look further we are seeing large heavy metal jewelry reminiscent of the 80s, with African tribal influences but with a sharp modern edge. Also on the runways for Spring 2013 we continued to spot spiky jewelry taken up a notch. This is a trend which is not going away, and expect spikes incorporated into statement necklaces and large pointy cuff bracelets. And if you though brights were over, they have just begun! Neons everywhere and acting as the predominant color. Lots of neon plastics and crystals. This is a season to remember.

Colors of Spring 2013
Once again, the colors are all but muted for Spring 2013, even the pastels pack some punch. The surprise is the rise of Red. Already in Fall 2012 we are seeing a strong showing of moody brick red, officially called ox blood. This color will translate into a brighter Poppy red in Spring. Monaco Blue is one of the top colors. Boring, I know, but something has to anchor all the brightness in the collections.
The color that is definately already showing strong popularity is Lemon Zest. Just look at all the yellow splashed across the Emmys. This is the neon yellow and official bright of the season. We can expect a

Snakeskin is finding its way into bangles and collars and is the official animal print. African prints and color themes, as well as African glass beads are also finding their way into the statement jewelry mix.
